Engineering process
The Eco-Shield Bamboo Decking Range has been crafted using an engineering process that ensures both strength and resilience. Bamboo poles are carefully selected, split, and shredded into long, fibrous strands. Unlike conventional bamboo treatments, our bamboo strands then undergo a high-temperature carbonization treatment that eliminates the organic nutrients such as sugars and starches which attract pests and fungi. This results in improved dimensional stability, making the decking resistant to warping and cracking in extreme weather conditions.
After the carbonization, the bamboo fibers are combined with an advanced outdoor grade adhesive and compressed under 3,200 tons of pressure, creating ultra-dense blocks twice as hard as oak (exceeding 1,100k g/m.3) These blocks are then precisely milled into decking boards, ready for easy installation with a hidden fastening and end-matched system. Finally a high-performance UV-resistant Woca Oil coating is applied, ensuring the decking is highly resistant to moisture, wear, and fading over time.
