Installation

Before Installing:

  1. VERY IMPORTANT: If installing on a concrete pad, the floor should be fully cured and dried before installing the flooring as too much moisture can cause it to swell or warp. (Defects caused by improper installation, will not be covered by the warranty)
  2. The sub-floor (plywood, concrete floor or existing floor) should be perfectly clean and level with no discrepancies to avoid problems when installing. A self levelling compound is recommended.
  3. Allow the bamboo to acclimatise for 48 hours prior to installation (unbox the flooring in the room where it will be installed). This will reduce the risk of the flooring expanding or contracting once installed.

Installation

  1. Choose the longest, straightest wall to start the installation and make sure the first row is as straight as possible. This will reduce problems further into the installation process.
  2. Being a natural product the flooring will expand and contract with different temperatures so it is advised to leave a 10-15mm gap between the floor and wall. Use spacer wedges to maintain the same gap.

  3. Bamboo Co's Eco-Shield Flooring comes with a uni-click fitting system and does not require nails, screws or glue. It is referred to as a ‘floating floor’.

  4. Install the boards row by row ensuring that the seams are staggered for a more natural look. Use a rubber mallet to tap the planks into place without damaging the edges.

  5. Once all boards have been installed, remove the spacer wedges and install the skirting boards around the edge of the room to hide the expansion gaps. If needed use the necessary accessories for between doorways or steps.

  6. Clean the floor thoroughly, making sure all debris is removed to avoid scratching the floor.

Care

Storage

Bamboo Co Eco-Shield Flooring should be stored inside, raised above the ground (on a level pallet), horizontally, in a dry, clean, pest free location.

(Defects caused by improper storage, will not be covered by the warranty)

Maintenance

Bamboo Co Eco-Shield Flooring is a natural product, therefore the appearance (color and grain) can vary. Maintenance is crucial to ensure the products durability, beauty and and longevity. (Defects caused by improper cleaning, will not be covered by the warranty).

  1. Regularly clean the floor with a soft brush or vacuum removing any debris that could scratch the surface.

  2. Clean the floor with a damp mop (not soaking wet) and a gentle, bamboo friendly cleaner or a mild Ph-balanced wood cleaner. DO NOT USE harsh chemicals or bleach products as this will damage the finish.

  3. Avoid excess water (not recommended for bathrooms) as this may lead to warping or swelling. Mop up excessive water spills immediately as this will damage the surface.

  4. In order to prevent dents and scratches, use furniture pads where available and use rugs and mats in areas of extremely high-traffic.
